High memory usage

Seeing high memory usage on sites like reddit, facebook -- I checked in Chrome the memory footprint is around 300mb for reddit.

I just want to know how to reduce the memory footprint.

Hey! Could you also test on Safari? Different engines behave a bit differently but Safari and Orion should be very similar in terms of memory usage since they both use WebKit. If the memory usage is significantly worse on all WebKit browsers, this is an issue for https://bugs.webkit.org

I'm experiencing similar behavior in the past couple months. I've noticed this happening on a lot of sites which has caused slowdowns in my system but today MacOS actually paused Orion because it was taking too much memory.

I have three tabs open:

Nextcloud
Immich
Orionfeedback.org

Really the only step I took was downloading in Nextcloud (it's a large folder... 1.3 GB). Before downloading, Orion was using 350 MB of memory. During download I can see the processes for Immich and Nextcloud increasing to around 600-800 MB each and remains stable but the process for Orion rapidly increases up to 35 GB. MacOS prompts me to kill Orion and the download never completes.

I've tried it in Safari and Chrome. Neither have this issue and are able to download much larger folders (3 GB).

I've used Orion as my daily driver since it came out and haven't had this issue. It's definitely recent.

I tried this with the latest version of Orion RC (Version 1.0.2 (141-rc), WebKit 624.1.2.19.2) and memory seems like it's holding steady in a better place. I'm using locally hosted Supabase and have it running simultaneously in both Orion stable and Orion RC. After 45 minutes, the memory in RC is drastically less and hasn't increased even as I've used the web app:

The only tab in Orion stable is Supabase. The memory steadily increased to that level over the span of 45 minutes. Orion RC has 6 tabs including n8n (blocked out). I'm actively using supabase and n8n in RC.

More than a couple web applications open in Orion stable and my Mac becomes nearly unusable.
