I opened Orion browser and I tried connecting to palestinechronicle dot com (PaCh). It began to load and then stopped half way down the page and timed out. I tried connecting again; failure. I cleared all Orion data and closed reopening and tried connecting; failure. I restarted the ipad tried again; failure. I restarted modem and ipad; failure.
I disabled all the content blockers and changed from full to basic at settings > conttent blockers. I tried connecting and palestinechronicle dot com appeared successfully in Orion. I closed Orion and tried again and it failed even with all the content blockers disabled. Orion tells me "Orion can't open this page the network connection was lost" - attached image.
Previously I was able to connect to palestinechronicle dot com with no problems.
Summary: after my modems have been turned off a period of time (no network connection) and after a fresh start of iOS, I initiate a request for PaCh and page appears to load, but some time after initial page load something breaks, the connection seems to be cut off, that is, the page freezes. I am unable to navigate throughout the site and any attempt to do so will result in Orion Timing out. Some pages appear to load but returning to PaCh home page results in communication failure.
If I close Orion, reopen, and try to connect to PaCh again, Orion will not connect.
After a period of time (a restart of the device may also be necessary) I am able to connect to PaCh but it is the same as before, the page freezes and the connection times out or the network connection is lost.
This may be related: I like using lynx text browser. Previously I was able to view palestinechronicle dot com with lynx but something changed and Lynx is no longer able to view pages at palestinechronicle. From the information I was able to see, palestinechronicle uses https://deflect.ca/.
Is it possible that https://deflect.ca/ is acting in some way that blocks Orion? I wonder if websites are using https://deflect.ca/ as a way to block browsers that utilize adblocking? That is, https://deflect.ca/ is portraying themselves as a protective measure when really a main selling feature - a service they provide of interest to sites hiring them - is to act as a proxy the blocks adblock systems forcing visitors to use browsers that show ads?
So, Orion will not connect to palestinechronicle. If others are able to connect to palestinechronicle, then it may be changes or tampering on the network upstream from me, but I don't know anyone that uses orion.
