I'm using NextDNS as a firewall/adblocker.
I enabled an option that shows a blockpage, but forgot trusting the associate CA root certificate for that blockpage. So, whenever NextDNS blocks a page, i get to see a blockpage with a 'not secure' warning.
So, for some websites, it seems NextDNS is blocking something and also loading the blockpage in the background? As a result, I get a 'not secure' warning for sites that actually have a secure connection.
This confused me, because clicking the 'not secure' lock icon just showed valid certs.
Also tested in Safari and safari showed the secure connection icon.
I solved this by installing the NextDNS associate CA root certificate for the blockpage.

The suggestion by Jet in the Kagi discord was to match Safari's behavior to improve the user experience.
