Ability to copy-paste tabs

The ability to copy-paste tabs would greatly accelerate my workflow. Instead of copying links and then pasting them into new tabs, I could copy the tab and have two versions of the same tab to work from (e.g. explore different search results within those tabs, or have different text highlights on articles). At the moment, the copy/paste functions are triggered with command+C/V and the copy/paste options are available in the edit menu, but these functions don't do anything. Screen recording below for reference.

If this were to be implemented, it would also be good to make it compatible with a potential bulk-tab selection feature: #411 (Select multiple tabs for bulk ops (horizontal and vertical))

In the meantime, have you tried using the "Duplicate tab" option when right-clicking on a tab?

oplos For now you can use two step shortcuts to achieve this, CMD+L(focus location bar), and then CMD+Enter(will open same URL in new tab).

We will check with other browsers, if there's some standard shortcut available for this feature, so we can use same here.

@dino's suggested flow works well. However, if you'd like to have it bound to just one shortcut, it can be done.
The menu option is located in Window → Duplicate Tab. By default it has no shortcut, but you can add one via macOS keyboard settings → Keyboard shortcuts → (see picture below)

Do note that ⌘+D is by default used for adding the current tab to bookmarks so copying the shortcut I used would replace that. Feel free to use whichever shortcut you see best fit.

dino Quick note on this. When tab nesting is enabled that two-step command nests the duplicate tab. My UI expectation would be that it doesn't nest when duplicated.
