Orion bookmarks disappear, and will not sync

Two days ago all my bookmarks disappeared from Orion. I use Orion on my MacBook and on my iPhone. The bookmarks are still saved on my desktop, but they won’t sync to my iPhone. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and toggling sync, but nothing works. There were no updates, new apps, or settings changes — the bookmarks were there one minute and gone the next.

Not sure how to answer this correctly. But was just assuming that the syncing both ways would continue to work.

The other thing I forgot to mention is that I can see the websites on my MacBook that are open in Orion and the sites I can see on my iPhone that I have open on my desktop. Just don’t understand why bookmarks are not syncing.

Did you try to go to settings -> sync -> and tap 'force sync'?

Michal I've done that, and that's what's strange: it reports finding many records, but nothing appears. When I check iCloud, it shows 155 KB of data backed up, but it isn't syncing.

Spcardfan Marked this as planned, we will look into a fix. A few questions to help us narrow down the issue:

Are other elements syncing, specifically tabs, tab groups, reading list items?

Is the loading spinner in the options menu showing when you load Orion?

vs.

Also, just checking, after some time, do bookmarks eventually load?
What about when you add or remove one on macOS (or import them from another browser)?

They do spin—sometimes they’ll spin for a bit and quit, but most of the time they just keep spinning until I stop them.
Nothing ever syncs—no bookmarks, no tabs, no history.

I’ve tried multiple fresh installs and even switched up the install order (MacBook first, iPhone first, etc.), but nothing seems to work. I also manually deleted the iCloud data and used Orion’s reset function on the Mac, but still no luck.

The HTML file I used was exported from Safari. I didn’t use Orion’s auto-import, I only brought in the bookmarks file.

Also don't know if it matters but I'm not using a VPN. As far as I can tell it's just the Private Relay from Apple. Still didn't work if I turned that off. Just FYI.
