Page not loading after blocking an element - workaround possible?

I've not submitted this as a bug, as I understand that blocking elements comes with risks.

I've enabled the standard content (ad) blockers.

If I block that element, the page stops working/loading.

NB: At first it looks it works, but the page isn't working after I refresh it.

I assume that this can't be fixed, but maybe there's a chance it can?

We're currently working on a new way to block ads.
