This would mean that instead of Orion's current handling of a bunch of tabs (where they go off the screen and you need to scroll through them), there would be an option so that the tab bar would squish the tabs together so that they all fit on the screen. That could include getting rid of the icon or text of the tab if needed, but ideally not until required. This means that you don't lose track of how many tabs you have open or where certain tabs are.
Chrome implements this, and it means that users are able to keep track of the number of tabs they have open instead of accidentally opening too many and wasting resources. I can see a user (like me) using this to ensure that they manage resources properly and are able to quickly glance at the tab bar to get all the information they need.
