Steps to reproduce the issue:
- Go to Orion settings → Tabs → Vertical tabs
- The default setting is Shift all children up a level when closing an expanded tab
- Attempt to change this to Convert first tab to parent or Preserve tab tree
- Change to a different setting tab, e.g., Appearance and then back to Tabs
- The change remains
- Close the settings window
- Open the settings window
- Check the state of the changed setting
- It has reverted back to Shift all children up a level

Expected behavior:
The changes made to settings should persist. Currently there doesn't seem to be a way to change closing expanded tab behavior as the settting is being reverted back to defaults.
