Make special characters keyboard bar visually responsive

The special characters keyboard above the OS keyboard should be visually responsive. The only way to know if I have typed a character out should not be whether that character is in the search bar. I don't think it should be identical to the OS highlighting + popping up, but the characters when pressed should at the very least be highlighted to unify the UI a little, and make it more familiar to users.

I use an iPhone SE 3 for reference.

Hi oplos, that's a great suggestion and one that should be fairly simple to implement. I'll add it to our plan.
