YouTube videos can not be paused in the first second. They play automatically.

When I pause a YouTube video then press '0' to jump to the start of the video, the video starts playing automatically.

Any attempts to pause a YouTube video in the first second of playback, fail.

This is very frustrating. Sometimes I want to open a YouTube video but not watching it yet. Or jump back to the start of a video to prepare for a rewatch or show a friend, but not play it immediately. It's betraying my years of Safari-built habits.

It should be possible to pause a YouTube video at any point in time (just like in every other browser)

This happens because we are trying to remove ads from YouTube for your convenience.

Just disable your own adblocking, allow users to get adblock extensions

You've been "working" on this for a year and not fixed it, I am surprised it is not your number 1 priority

It is such a low hanging fruit
