UX: Contrast between active and inactive tabs too low

In difficult light conditions, I can barely distinguish the active tab from inactive tabs, because the contrast between both colors is so low.

Device: iPad Air M2

I expected active and inactive tabs to be easier to distinguish.

Hi Foo5000, thank you for taking the time to report this issue!

I can see it a bit, especially when comparing with Safari dark mode.
I'm working in this area and I should be able to tweak this, however my changes may not ship for another month or two...

This might be a personal difference but the contrast seems very high already to me, how would you want it to be increased?

This is a better example. Due to transparency and a white page background, the widgets on top of the tabs bar are bright, as is the page itself. Sandwiched in between are the tabs, and now the perceived contrast between active and inactive is rather low.
