"Orion is not your default browser" message if default browser is set externally [Mojave]

Repro steps:

Go to macOS System Preferences > General on set default browser to any other than Orion RC.
Open Orion > Preferences > General, and it should show at the bottom:
Orion is not your default browser.
Close Orion, open macOS System Preferences and set default browser to Orion RC
Repeat step 2. It'd still say Orion is not your default browser. but if I open links from my Mail.app, it opens Orion with the correct profile despite saying that it's not the default browser.

I tried restarting and logging out my Mac and the issue persists.

It should say Orion is your default browser. if set in macOS System Preferences.

This could be exclusive to older versions of macOS. I was not able to reproduce this on Sequoia. On step 4, Orion settings no longer had the Orion is not your default browser. line.
