This may be related to the other issue I was having where Orion won't give back nor take focus at the appropriate time with other apps running. For example, in my case, the cursor will stop changing to the "text entry" ][ bracket looking cursor if you go into another app, then come back to Orion. It stays the pointer, and you can enter text- there is just no cursor to tell you where your text entry is going to be at.
I noticed on videos/sound playing on any other app or website, if Orion is open, either the sound from the new app is choppy, or the sound from Orion keeps playing. For example, I had Twitter/X open in Orion, I went to open Youtub in a new tab using Orion, and the sound suddenly gets choppy. I tried opening Youtube in Chrome, and same thing. Sound is choppy, like it is every fifth word coming out. When I close Twitter/X by closing Orion, the sound returns to normal. Turns out, in my feed, there was a video that wasn't even with the sound on, but now I've recreated this several time. If I have Facebook, Instragam, or Twitter/X open with shorts or reels in that window, it is like the sound is confused which source to use.
Could this be related to the cursor issue? They both are issues where Orion seems to not give away dominant control nor take it back on its own.
This fix I came up with for both is to open Quicktime player, hit screen recording, and then stop the screen recording after 1 second. Function then returns to normal for cursor and sound.
Hope that helps as a temporary work around!
I'm on compatibility mode and I've tried it without compatibility mode. Running Sequoia 15.6 beta but on the other machine I'm not running Beta at all.
Can the issue with the cursor focus be fixed? Is this which app is in control part of an overall issue? Thank you for all that work so hard!!
