Orion on iOS does not block trackers.

Turning on the appropriate content, blockers for Orion does not properly block all the trackers as shown in the image below.
The behavior only happens when the site gets refreshed only on the iOS version, on any other browser including the desktop version of Orion, This issue was not present.

Well I was expecting for it to consistently block the trackers, even after a page refresh,

iOS 18.5, as of right now the latest version of Orion,1.3.25 (11) (WebKit 8621.2.5.10.10)

AnoionTheAppilius try going to Settings -> Content Blockers and make sure it’s set to full and update the blocklist, then try again.

In short, Orion does everything it can to protect your privacy, no matter what tests online may suggest.

@laiz I just checked the blocklist and noticed it takes quite a long time to update. Once it does, Orion will produce the expected results with the EFF test

Additionally you can see the blocklist on a fresh install of Orion is from December 9th

Ah I see, my apologies then, though in total fairness, Orion doesn’t exactly properly communicate whether or not if it’s actually done updating the filter list or not

It does show percentage number, but I assume that doesn’t really matter when even after it says it’s done It really isn’t if that makes any sense.

Although let me just say, no matter what I tried it would always say partial protection on the site, and just so we’re clear I have all the appropriate filter lists enabled

For what it's worth @AnoionTheAppilius with a fresh install of Orion on iOS 26 and iPadOS 18.5 after updating the list using only default EasyList and EasyPrivacy selected the results improve.

This may be #11187 again as I had reported previously.

@laiz I just installed Orion fresh on an iPad and I noticed the content blocker list was also from "2024-12-09, 4:00 PM" and did not auto-update on launch. If I manually update the list, it takes about 60 seconds and then updates.

Update: turns out I’m an idiot and I didn’t try actually using the iOS 26 beta and now everything seems fine, although having to use beta software to get the browser to function properly is a bit weird

AnoionTheAppilius what you're seeing is probably the improvements made to Intelligent Tracking Protection on iOS 26, which also applies to Orion. With regards to ads, once you've refreshed the list, you should be blocking ads completely as Orion is using the same lists as everyone else from what I gathered.
