'Show Keyboard on New Tab' setting is not respected when creating new tabs via the tab view

Steps to reproduce the issue:

In Orion settings → Tabs disable Show Keyboard on New Tab
Open your tab list (both Grid and Sidebar have this bug)
Tap the + in the bottom left (sidebar)/right (grid) corner to create a new tab
A tab is created and the keyboard pops up despite it being disabled in the settings

Also notice how the keyboard does not pop up when the first tab using Grid view is created. The subsequent tabs, however, cause the keyboard to appear.

Expected behavior:
If Show Keyboard on New Tab is disabled, the keyboard should not automatically appear, no matter how the user creates a new tab.

Orion and iOS versions:

1.3.25 (11) (WebKit 8621.2.5.10.10)

I can't reproduce this in the latest TF builds (1.3.26 (6)+).

To me it looks like this was fixed when we shipped a fix for https://orionfeedback.org/d/11459-creating-a-new-tab-via-the-sidebar-causes-the-keyboard-to-have-a-stuttering-animation

Let me know if you manage to reproduce, otherwise I'll close it?

On 1.3.26 (7), I get the following behavior:

If my start page is blank (i.e. favorites, frequently visited etc. are toggled off), Show Keyboard on New Tab works as expected.
If my start page has links on it, the keyboard does not spawn when a new tab is opened via the tab sidebar

This behavior could be related to #11477.

Hi laiz, I can reproduce the issue consistently in the simulator, but not on my test device.

The good news is that I think that a fix for a similar issue I worked one recently seems to have fixed this issue too. It should be in the next TF release.

I could reproduce the issue as you mention, but not consistently. It works as expected 80% of the time... It's an annoying one 😅
