Search prioritizes history over a new search

I like having history on for search autocomplete, but this issue is just frustrating. When I go to search something (an example that just happened to me being "github student") it will, when I hit enter, go to a URL from my history that's different from the search instead of opening in the search engine. For the before example, it just went to the gihub website instead of searching for github student.

I want to type in search queries and have it be less sensitive to history. If I type "github" then sure, I want it to go to github, but if I type something related to github that isn't specifically github, then I want it to just search.

Firefox just implemented a feature where search options are shown in the address bar's drop-down menu as soon as you enter a search term. Presumably that would be ideal in your case because it would give you more granular control? Hopefully the Orion devs can do the same at some point.

This is how it looks in my browser. There are 2 DDG icons, one for the Web and the other for Images. It's not necessary to remember any shortcut abbr. before typing in the search term either.
