Summary
When playing a video in one tab and then switching to another tab, the audio/mute indicator incorrectly remains visible on tabs that are no longer playing audio.

Steps to Reproduce
- Open the Orion browser
- Navigate to YouTube in the first tab
- Start playing any video (audio begins playing)
- Open a new tab and navigate to orionfeedback.org
- Switch focus to the second tab (orionfeedback.org)
Current Behavior
The audio/mute indicator icon remains visible on the YouTube tab even when it's not the active tab. Additionally, the indicator may incorrectly appear on the orionfeedback.org tab which has no audio playing.
Visual Evidence
In the screenshot provided, we can see the mute icon appears on the orionfeedback.org tab even though this site shouldn't be playing any audio
Frequency
Consistent reproduction rate (100%) following the steps outlined above.
Additional Notes
- This appears to be an issue with the audio status tracking system not properly updating when switching between tabs
- The bug might be related to how the browser maintains state information about media playback across tabs
- The issue persists until the browser is restarted or tabs are closed
Expected Behavior
The audio/mute indicator should only be displayed on tabs that are currently playing audio. When switching to a tab with no audio content, no audio indicator should be shown.
Impact
This issue causes user confusion about which tab is actually producing audio, making it difficult to identify and control audio sources within the browser. This can lead to frustration when trying to mute specific tabs or identify where sound is coming from.
