Landscape view broken on iOS

I just discovered that if I open a new tab in landscape, it works as I'd expect. When I rotate to portrait it re-flows as expected, but on rotating back to landscape again, it breaks.

It seems like all tab views are laid out side by side and rendered into one big map in memory, but then the offsets into that map are wrong when rotating. Not an iOS dev myself, but I hope that's a clue.

Just want to do a +1 on this report. I’ve been having this issue for ₁ to 2 weeks, I hope that coincides with a change that was released during that time.

I haven’t been able to narrow down a way to reproduce it. It happens when I have multiple tabs open, the one I was using was being used in landscape mode, and I put the phone away. When I come back to browsing later, probably while in portrait mode, going to landscape mode is broken in Orion. It is fixed when I close the old tab that I was using before, while the phone was in landscape mode.

Here to report that I am also experiencing the same issue, rotating from portrait to landscape looks as if all the portrait-oriented sites are next to each other. And since they have a smaller width I see a few tabs as if “to the left” of my current one. Also happens on the start page as already mentioned.

Also mentioned, opening a new tab while in landscape mode and loading a website works properly. The issue happens when rotating portrait to landscape.

@Michal Somehow I was able to replicate when changing zoom settings while in landscape mode.

That doesn’t look like the behavior I’m seeing or what is in the OP. In the screenshot max-o provided, you see two tabs side by side in landscape mode. That’s the issue.

Let me add this recoding.

At this point, all reports seem to be on iPhone SEs. It would be a good start to see if the screen size has anything to do with it.

Looking through the changelogs, I wonder if it was change “Tab scrolling and positioning fixes” from 1.3.21. This sounds like what we’re seeing and it matches my timeline of when I first noticed issues.

Thank you for patience, I am able to reproduce the issue. Seems to happen on smaller phones only.
I will let you know once I find a fix

See the below screen recordings for reference. When switching to horizontal view, the sites go blank (I tried it with these four, but likely happens with other sites too given the similarity of the bug). While not shown in the screen recordings, this happens no matter which direction the horizontal view is triggered by (tilting left/right). Flipped 180˚ to maintain vertical view doesn't pose issues.

I use an iPhone SE 3 for reference.

I just installed the new version, but it is still broken on my iPhone SE.

Me too. Did it auto-update? I guess so; it now says version 1.3.24 (2) (WebKit 8621.2.5.10.10)

Restarted the app just in case. But I don't see any difference in the buggy behavior.
