As you can see, I have a webpage open (ignore the content) in compatibility mode.
Extensions don't work in compatibility mode, but there's no prompt to suggest this.
Every time you click an extension while in compatibility mode, it requests permissions. Users may not be aware of compatibility mode even being on for the website if they're not perceptive enough to notice the little checkmark badge on the gear icon in the toolbar.
My proposal is, when the user attempts to access an extension menu with compatibility mode enabled, to add an alert that notifies the user of compatibility mode being on, and provides the option to disable it.
