When I leave the YouTube app while a video is playing, it switches to Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode like it should. But if I have a queue and the current video finishes, the next video starts playing and PiP closes. I have to go back to YouTube and leave it again to get PiP working.
Next video should continue to play in PiP

Hey! I tried reproducing this with a YouTube playlist, which I would assume works the same as any personal queues you might create. I, however, was unable to replicate the behavior you described. Am I missing something in the following video?
strange, happend a few times earlier though now tried replicating the bug while capturing it and it's not happening.
Might be due to the browser also being a bit sluggish?
