it would be neat to have a way to disable the overlay that appears when pressing control option shift d while watching netflix:

when checking res youre being served by netflix it would be convenient for this overlay to not be in the way of it

Hey! It looks like Orion and Netflix are both trying to use the same keyboard shortcut. On Orion, ⌃⌥⇧D is used to toggle the Design Tools.

In most cases, the steps below would solve the issue. In the case of Design tools, however, something odd is going on and the shortcut appears hard-coded into the browser with no way of freeing up the default shortcut. This is a bug, and it should be fixed.

Fortunately, however, Orion is a native macOS app so all keyboard shortcuts can be changed by the user. You can do so via
System settings -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> App Shortcuts -> Click + -> Select either All Applications or just Orion -> the menu title is Show Design Tools and then add the desired shortcut. For example, ⌃⌥⌘⇧D could be an option.

Thanks for the reply! sadly it doesn't seem to be working still 🙁

Upon further review, it would appear that configuring the Desing Tools shortcut does not change the behavior of ⌃⌥⇧D. Even if a new shortcut is added, the old one remains also valid. Good catch, and I hope the team is able to fix this soon.

laiz changed the title to Show Design Tools shortcut (⌃⌥⇧D) cannot be disabled .

IMO by default there shouldnt even have a shortcut assigned, as its a pretty niche tool and oesnt need to have a shortcut for everyone to use.
