Versions Affected:

  • Chrome: 2025.3.2
  • Firefox: 2025.2.0

Steps to reproduce (from a new, clean Orion profile):

  1. Enable installation of 3rd party Chrome and Firefox extensions from Settings.
  2. Click on ‘Manage Extensions'
  3. click on ‘Add Extensions'.
  4. (Depending on which version you want to test)
a: Click on ‘Add Chrome Extension‘.
b: Click on ‘Add Firefox Extension‘.
5: On whichever store you picked / version of extension, search for Bitwarden.
6: When the extension page opens, click on 'Add to Orion’.
7: When the confirmation prompt shows up, ensure that the dropdown menu is set to
'Allow for all websites', then click the purple button.
8: Wait until the Bitwarden icon shows up next to the bookmarks bar.
    9: Click the Bitwarden icon.

Observed behaviour:
Stuck on loading indicator (ring of circles with animation).

This does not occur on Safari.

Expected behaviour:

Login screen would show, asking to enter email address.

The attached image is what it looks like on Safari.

Caveat: the safari extension is provided by the macOS Bitwarden application, and cannot be installed directly as an extension, IIRC.

dino I can now log in, and despite an initial instance of being stuck at the vault page with no entries, they now seem to have loaded.

The bug seems to have been resolved. Thank you very much!

Can I get this re-opened? I'm on Version 0.99.132.3-rc using the Orion RC app and cannot get the Firefox Bitwarden 2025.2.0 to work. I have the local app installed and I like to use biometric authentication. After authenticating (which appears to work fine), I get a spinner icon in the extension window.

    Thanks,
    Wes
