I had just finished writing a nice long bug report with lots of details and accidentally swiped on my trackpad and now everything I wrote is gone. Aside from the fact that I don't feel like writing that all again, I can't seem to find any setting to turn off that swipe gesture, which also typically bites me in places like google docs that do also have horizontal scroll. If there is a setting for this, where is it, if not, can you please add one?

What do you think about preserving the state of the last tab that was swiped away like this? Eg. if you swipe back, your work wouldn’t be lost.

I feel like that’d be a nicer and certainly more discoverable solution.

As for eg. Google Docs, I’m not sure if the website is using the correct API to declare that you can scroll horizontally, but maybe we could add a site-specific hack for this.

IIRC, this is what Chrome does, but that might be difficult to implement if WebKit doesn't natively support it. Safari doesn't do it, for example.

in response to the clarification tag: It's the horizontal two-finger swipe on trackpad to perform history navigation that I would like to be able to disable.
