  • Website replaced by what appears to be an ad for Apple Safari - feels like a scam. Doesn’t happen when using Safari.

Using Kagi from within Orion I performed the following search-> can I make mole with dried chili peppers?
I have included a screenshot of the result provided by Kagi (https://www.cilantroparsley.com/mexican-mole-rojo-sauce-recipe/).

I selected reference 6. The requested page for this link opened (). Then in a few seconds later another page that appears to be an “ad” for Safari opened (2 screenshots included and
). The “ad” also makes it seem that Orion’s use of WebKit triggered the “ad”. I can’t imagine Apple doing this so it seems to me to be a scam. If I use Safari on my iPad this added page does not appear.

Not certain if this is an issue in Orion or if the website has been corrupted. Thought you might like to know.

See text prior, I would have expected Orion to act like Safari.

I'm not sure about your request. You saw an advertisement (which is indeed a scam), but what does Orion have to do with this? Tell me more 🙂

Do you have ad-blocking filters enabled? I don't have any ads on this site...

Apologies for the poor explanation. The point I was trying to make is that Orion displayed the scam content while Safari did not. I thought you would want to be aware.

In Orion I am using the the Full content Blockers provided by Orion (downloaded on 3/14/25) and also U-Block Origin.

In Safari I was using the content blockers provided with the app and may also have had Stop The Madness Pro enabled.

Let me know if you need more info.
