I have a Synology server and when I access it through a local IP at home, none of the extensions are working, they all look disabled:
I have tried using the compatibility mode, and whitelisting the extensions manually but nothing seems to be working.
I would expect the extensions to not be disabled, even on local IPs.

Compatibility mode by design disables all extensions. I am unable to reproduce extensions being disabled on local IPs so it sounds like you have compatibility mode enabled.
Could you share a screenshot of your settings for the local IP, e.g.
Oh gosh you're right sorry! Somehow the server page was not loading at all if I didn't use the compatibility mode and I forgot it also had an effect on extensions.
You can close the issue!
