  • IOS haptic touch options on toolbar bookmarks/reading list - want quick add to reading list button like on safari mobile

  • SuggestionsMobileNofix

I add items to my reading list a lot
on safari mobile it looks like this:

it's very quick, just one press, swipe, release for any page. I think I had to look up how to do it the first time though maybe

these hold / haptic touch buttons are missing from the orion custom buttons for bookmarks, reading list.
so I would suggest adding them. I like having both add bookmark and add reading list on one toolbar icon though, so maybe add both of them either to the bookmarks icon, reading list icon or both, or maybe you could add the removed safari button in the screenshot

on orion the fastest way to "add to reading list" is to pin it to the top of sharing button which is okay, but a bit distracting seeing all my contact photos coming up and stuff, and on my iphone SE I have to scroll to get to the "add to reading list" button even if it's the first button, so it's not as good

for context I like the safari mobile app fine, I just wanted it to be able to sync my tabs and reading list with orion desktop browser since safari tabs are unusable to me if you have too many without the sidebar, and I am considering switching to orion desktop more fully, I also like the option to install non-safari extensions, and the side tabs thing is ok (I think it would be better as a full screen view, maybe entering from bottom, but it might feel different for others with bigger phones)

see above

it would extend the bookmarks and "add to reading list" features by making it more convenient to add a bookmark or add to reading list without going through the share menu. it would also bring orion mobile more in line with safari

Haptic touch is the apple feature to replace 3D touch, I am referring to holding that button bringing up a menu separate from tapping the button

We will use the long press on this icon for something else. In the meantime, I think putting this option first on your list is just as quick. 😉
