Command-Key combos sometimes stop working

Basic command-key combos like Cmd-W, to close a tab, cease working. Even Cmd-C and Cmd-V for Copy/Paste seem to become unrecognized. From what I've been able to discern, it's as if Orion doesn't recognize the Cmd-key in any combo. Cmd-W reacts as if I just pressed W.

Steps to replicate the issue: I cannot find a trigger for it. I will be going to close a tab with Cmd-W, and at some point it doesn't react. It seems as if the Cmd key is not recognized in the combo.
N.B. Restarting Orion always restores the combos, until some random point it goes Cmd-deaf again.
What else I've tried: Uninstalling all Firefox and Chrome extensions in Orion. Running with only Privacy Pass, but even had this issue before activating that one.
Does it happen in Safari? No. It doesn't happen in Safari any other MacOS app on this Mac.

When I press Cmd-W, I expect Orion to close the active tab. When I press Cmd-X/C/V, I expect Orion to do the usual Cut/Copy/Paste operations.

This is new and quite uncommon 😅 (at least for now).
It would really help us if you could figure out what's causing this. Do you happen to have another application that captures keyboard shortcuts?

Yannick I don't think I do, but I'll have another look. It's strange as it doesn't impact either Safari or Firefox. I have 1Password, but that looks for a particular Cmd-\ combo. There is also BetterTouchTool, but I've tried quitting that, and there's no change. I see no other system apps that capture input.

What I'm going to do is close the ticket for organizational reasons and inform the rest of the team.
This way, if the issue occurs for someone else, we can reopen the ticket.

On some pages Cmd+V (paste) simply doesn't work, while right-click Paste works. It happens as I switch between apps (Cmd-Tab), it just stops working sometimes when I get back to Orion. This is not the sites blocking paste, I tried "Allow Copy & Paste" and it doesn't make a difference.

Could you list examples of sites where this happens? Some sites isn't too useful when attempting to reproduce this issue. When cmd+v breaks, do other keyboard shortcuts still work (e.g. cmd+t)?

laiz Noticed it mostly on sites that require entering a 2FA code. But they are not blocking pasting because they work in Chrome and also I tried clicking Tools > Allow Copy & Paste and it doesn't help. It's ⌘V that doesn't work for me, but right-click + paste menu works.

Additionally, just to rule out some shortcut oddities, could you clarify the following:

Does pasting a 2FA code ever work on those websites on Orion?
Could you share a screenshot of your Edit menu? (see below)

I cannot share actual sites, for privacy. It happens on text fields that are used to enter 2FA codes. Same pages work in Chrome, just not in Orion.

I don't know what the "key" symbol is in the text field, password manager maybe? Though I'd expect Bitwarden to show up instead. Maybe there's some weird interaction that breaks ⌘V

KOB25 Do you encounter this issue with Compatibility Mode on?

I understand you probably want to be using Bitwarden when using 2FA-requesting text fields, but just wondering if we could narrow down the cause to being extension-, or specifically Bitwarden-related

It's not about Bitwarden 2FA, but rather OTP codes sent via email or sms, copy from another tab/app and paste in Orion.
