Native authentication prompts not working

I discovered that it seems to work with https://httpbin.org/basic-auth/foo/bar but not with http://212.227.48.141/
Maybe it is because of https? Any comments on this issue are welcome!

When you open a website that has a native login prompt (with .htaccess and .htpasswd) it does not show up and the website just says „Unauthorized“.

I tested it with Safari and the Orion browser, both on Mac and Mobile (iPad). You can test it yourself using the following urls:

https://httpbin.org/basic-auth/foo/bar (should work)
http://212.227.48.141/ (does not work)

In Safari, it shows a popup to enter login credentials:

In Orion browser, nothing pops up and the website just says „Unauthorized“:

The IP address you posted doesn't work for me, but I'm experiencing the same thing with an https site. I can't use this brwoser for work if basicauth is not working.

Yeah. It's working now. It's wierd, it started working after the 2nd computer restart. Maybe iCloud sync will start working after the 3rd 😃

invalidpanda Unauthorized on Orion, No Internet on Opera, works on Safari, nice find.

invalidpanda That doesn't work for me either. Times out on Orion, but works on Firefox.
The page that was the cause for my complaint works though. Wierd.
