_I_ Confirming that iCloud Passwords no longer works at all after updating to macOS 15.4 Disabled the extension and using macOS Passwords for now Password settings in Orion: 3rd part provider and [โ] Offer to AutoFill passwords
HuaDeity The extension isn't working on Dia, the new browser from the same company as Arc. However, it does work on Arc. Assuming the company hasn't made significant underlying changes, the issue likely stems from Apple's identification of the browser in macOS 15.4.
Megabits Apple really should put effort into improving the extension experience instead of locking it up. 1Password did a way better job on this. ๐
Dustin Megabits to be fair, it's an unsupported use of their extension, which is only supported on Chrome and Firefox. In a way, they are improving the experience by making it more secure. ๐
ModernTTY Same issue seems to be happening on other non-major browsers as well. https://github.com/zen-browser/desktop/issues/7210 https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium-macos/issues/144
Ilia ModernTTY Most likely apple's effort to crackdown on indie software that doesn't go though App Store.
louije The Apple team is aware and has a solution in the works, see https://hachyderm.io/@rmondello/114428040108031953. Orion has been added to the list (but not Orion RC).
louije I've just added a PR for Orion RC to be included in the list. https://github.com/apple/password-manager-resources/pull/898
Ryxu8 The extension is now working on macOS Sequoia 15.5. Thank you to everyone who notified the Apple team about this issue.
smftko Seems to be working for Orion but not for Orion RC on my system. Orion RC Version 0.99.133.2.1-rc (WebKit 622.1.9.19.2) and Orion Version 0.99.133-beta (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4)
louije Yep โย going through /System/Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/App/System/Library/CoreServices/PasswordManagerBrowserExtensionHelper.app/Contents/MacOS/PasswordManagerBrowserExtensionHelper shows that RC is not yet in the whitelist: I'd imagine this is going to happen in a forthcoming update.
ModernTTY Hidden_Collector It should work now(not the RC but the normal one). It does ask for the code every time the browser is opened, but that's normal behavior.
smftko iCloud Passwords Extension is working in macOS Tahoe Developer Beta 1 (Version 0.99.134-rc (WebKit 622.1.9.19.2)
